A few weeks ago I was sent the new lookbook for Dea London, who specialises in fabulous plus size work wear. The label focuses on good tailoring and unique designs.
After recently starting my new job I have been on the quest for stylish, yet appropriate, dresses and skirts which I can wear to the office, but can effortlessly transfer to the bar afterwards. If I'm completely honest it's not been the easiest task. The problem? To be blunt, my boobs. Many of my previous finds have either been too short because of the material being pulled up because of said boobs*, or I look far too 'risque' for my corporate office. Don't get me wrong I do have work dresses and skirts, some of which are on the borderline of short, but I still haven't found 'the one'. So, when the Dea London lookbook popped up in my inbox I was rather excited.
*I'm only 5ft2 so this is quite a feat. Does anyone else suffer from this? It really is a pain.
The new collection is "inspired by the British spring, hazy mornings, pink sunsets and the gradual approach of summer, this collection mimics these soft and subtle natural colours to present a tailored elegant, professional and feminine silhouette." I decided to select my five favourite looks to show you, which really wasn't an easy task as there wasn't a single outfit I couldn't imagine wearing. Seriously.
My favourite thing about the collection is the structured shape, which is one of the key credentials I look for when shopping. I have quite a small waist so this is definitely something which I aim to frame and slightly exaggerate. What I look for the most when shopping is something which follows the curves of my shape instead of drowning it. And I definitely think Dea London fulfills this.
The muted colours are also perfect for me, and for the corporate environment I work in. Don't get me wrong, I'm not restricted by a dress code, but loud and in-your-face colours and prints aren't really very me. I would rather have a killer dress with some statement jewellery.
I can't wait to my next pay day so I can treat myself to something new to wear for work. At the minute, and I do keep changing my mind, I think it may have to be the third one along as it is different to anything I've seen in the shops recently. Which one do you think I should opt for? Here is a link to
their website if anyone of you are thinking of joining me. Let me know if you do! What do you think of the line?
I was not paid for this post, and my opinions are my own.

Oh I know what you mean by boobs!
ReplyDeleteThey pull up the fabric making the garment shorter, you'll find the right size top or dress that fits perfectly everywhere else except your boobs or creates rippled fabric because it's stretched or tight, they are likely to fall out if you wear something too low or it could look far too risqué when it's not intentional. Gosh haha.
Dea London looks fab, a site dedicated to fashionable office wear! Amazing!
I love this: http://www.dealondon.co.uk/collections/all/products/301w12 it's a gorgeous colour, has a lovely collar and I've a feeling the panels either side will flatter.
xx
Exactly! Haha. Glad someone else gets it.
DeleteOh, that is gorgeous. I just cannot stop lusting over their clothes!
We especially like the first outfit! Not sure if it's a top with a skirt or just a dress but the combination of the top pattern with the white of the skirt really works!
ReplyDeleteWow, they certainly have some cute items! Thanks for the recommendation :) xo, eliza
