Truth be told I've never been a fan of high necked t-shirts and blouses as I feel they always make my chest looks huge, and trust me it doesn't need any help with that... Ahem. But, as I recently started in the world of office work I needed to get some outfits which were appropriately covered up. Now, don't get me wrong, my chest isn't always on display, I just wanted something slightly more conservative. I feel like I'm beginning to dig a hole here so I'm going to move on swiftly...
I spotted this little beauty in Topshop while out shopping with Mama C in London, and at first I was hesitant. I've always loved peter pan collars on other people, I'm looking at you Dani, but I was convinced it would look plain silly on me. But after some persuasion, I went ahead and bought it. And I've loved it ever since. Why is that woman always right!
Shirt - Topshop. Cardigan - H&M. Skirt - Topshop
Belt - Topshop. Boots - Dune. Necklace - Vintage.
I've wore this outfit to work, to go shopping, and to see friends. It's definitely paid for itself about six times over, not that it was very expensive in the first place. As I was about to pop into town to meet some friends, and it was raining quite heavy* I wore my trusty boots and a very thick coat which I haven't pictured. I have to admit, I've also bought it in red. However, it's very bright and I'm not sure how well it suits my colouring. So I might have to wait until summer to break it out, or I might sell it on (if anyone is interested let me know).
*(roll on the drier weather)
I tried to capture the print of the shirt, as it really is pretty, but I don't know how successful I was. Also to add a bit of vintage glamour to it I added my Nana's locket, which I absolutely adore. I wish I could show you the photographs inside it. She really was a Glama-Nana.
As always, I've kept my outfit quite simple, but I would like to maybe be a bit more adventorous in my styling of it. So, help me out fashionistas how would you style this shirt?
Loving the collor twinny, looking forward to seeing it in red. :]xxx

Deletei love that shirt! you could always throw on a round necked sweater over it so the collar pops out :)

That blouse looks lovely on you! I feel the same about high necked clothes due to similar bust issues, but I think when the collar is a little bit pointy, like yours, rather than fully rounded it helps take away from the roundness of my chest so to speak! Love the colour on you as well!
ReplyDeleteI adore your style, so I've nominated you for a Leibster Award on my blog :)

Oh I really love Peter pan collars too and I really like this one! Mama C has a good eye for what suits you. I would love to see you wearing the red top too, I think red would suit your colouring, but I think red suits every one! ;) love the wee locket, my ma n pa gave me a locket this xmas, but I still don't have photos in it. So hard to choose!
