It's Like Gold Dust

Monday, 11 February 2013
I'm sorry my blog posts have been few and far between at the moment. February is our busiest month, so all of my energy is currently being funneled into trying to get everything done. By the time I get home I'm absolutely shattered and it's usually bed for this little Hazzelnut.
I promise I'm going to try to be a better blogger, and catch up on all of your posts this week!

I wore this outfit on the Friday past to a new bar opening, The Big Social, in Oxford. When I was invited out, I have to be honest I'd never heard of the place, and when I looked it up online I couldn't find any details on it. So I was unsure of what to expect. But, I really did enjoy myself! Although was a small venue, they have made great use of the space. As well as your standard beers, spirits and wine, they also serve cocktails, but unfortunately I didn't get the chance to try any, but there's always next time! The garden area is also beautifully decorated with fairy lights, I can see myself enjoying a nice quiet drink there on a summers night.

As I only found out I was going not long before hand this outfit was a rushed decision, but I quite like. I've had this skirt in my wardrobe for a year now, but it's never had an outing as I always thought it made me look too exaggerated at the hips*. But, I actually quite like it, and I think I'll be wearing it out more often. I've already made a mental note to bring it to Venice with me next month.
*one of the issues of having a small waist and large hips

Skirt - Topshop. Top - Urban Outfitters. Jacket - Marks & Spencers
Belt - Topshop. Boots - Clarks. Jewellery - Vintage.

My fabulous flatmate Mel also went out for a few celebration tipples. Doesn't she look lovely! Unfortunately, we went to different bars, but I've made a mental note to drag her down to The Big Social next time we both have a free weekend.

Does anyone else buy items which live in their closets for an absolute age, before breaking them out and wondering why you hadn't before? Or is it just me? I need to be stricter with my purchases...
